Break the stigma around mental health and ensure no-one in your team suffers alone by having a qualified Mental Health First Aider in your practice. We’ve teamed up with Andy Elwood, a Mental Health First Aid Instructor, to give you or a member of your team the opportunity to become a qualified Mental Health First Aider.
Information...
The Mental Health First Aid course will support you as an individual, as well as helping you to strengthen and support your team and build a better way forward when it comes to mental health and wellbeing.
By becoming a Mental Health First Aider, you will have:
- an understanding of mental health and wellbeing
- practical skills to spot the early signs and symptoms of mental health issues with your team
- the confidence to approach, listen, reassure and support colleagues
- the knowledge to promote recovery and provide guidance on how to get further support
- an understanding of the stigma that exists around mental health.
The course consists of 15.5 hours of live online learning and will be delivered via four virtual sessions. Each of the sessions will be a mix of instructor-led training, group discussions and individual and group activities.

A bit about Andy Elwood...
Andy is a Mental Health First Aid instructor and an ambassador for Movember.
He creates safety and trust by sharing his own vulnerability and gives a unique ‘behind the scenes’ insight into life and death situations from his 20 years’ experience working in the emergency services as a paramedic on search and rescue helicopters.
Andy says ‘I believe I will save more lives by speaking and delivering MHFA training, than if I were still dangling under a rescue helicopter as a paramedic.’
